Re: DIGS (Do It & Get Stuff!) – Mail

Does anyone remember ‘DIGS’?
This year, PEPOMO conducted DIGS (Do It & Get Stuff!) for the launch of ‘The Gossipy Guide’ by artist led collaboration ‘Propeller Island’ at Tenderproduct, London. For details on this project please visit here!

Propeller Island produced 50 copies of ‘The Gossipy Guide’ publication, and PEPOMO contributed ‘DIGS – Mail’.

And so far we have received most copies of DIGS – Mail, with very interesting titles. However there are still ‘DIGS’ CDs in ‘The Gossipy Guide’ yet to be sent to us. So if you still have one, then please write any title and your name and address (which will remain strictly confidential) on the CD and just pop it in your nearest post box! Don’t miss out!

We look forward to receiving them from you!

A Window Display in Antwerp

We wouldn’t recommend to put frazzled airplane and helicopter in front window of airline company…

Delightful! Exciting! Lovely! Fantastic! Terrific! Delft!

Nostradamus come back to life and then eat your heart out! The Dutch girl we drew in June 2010, one whole month before we saw this rather big mouse in Holland!

Q. If one could bottle the essence of Delft what would it smell like?
A. Don’t know, but the label would look a bit like the one on the Dreft bottles.

Rule Number 1 at Food Packaging Label Design School should be: ‘Do not depict insects.’ Needless to say we didn’t eat any of these butterflies, sorry, ‘cabbages’, that we found in the C1000 Supermarket.

YES! Delft. This window display we found on the TU Delft University site. Where are you jumping to?

TU Delft upside down babies, now on display in the well stocked TU Delft shop.

Royal Delft are well respected makers of fine pottery. But that doesn’t stop them from producing decidedly odd things. Take this ‘cat’ for instance, which to us looks more like an octegenarian furry.

If we’d 572 Euros to spare then this little behatted squirrel-dog hybrid would be with us now. Are those tiny hand-painted female genitals under the long-hand script? Yes you guessed it, Royal Delft again.

Dogs, dogs, dogs, dogs, dogs and dogs on a poster we saw in a park full of people walking dogs… Cheers!

Why erect a public sculpture when the money could be spent on a nice seating area? I mean, you couldn’t sit on this here thing could you?

The market aftermath. Delft outdoor market takes place every Thursday and Saturday, and there, amongst other things, you can buy the most delicious fish. And then throw it on the floor.

Delft is criss-crossed with canals along which you can take lovely boat tours. Some bridges you can go under sitting up, some stooping down, and others you’d have to go under the water to pass. Amazing! I’ve never seen anything like that in my life, etc, etc.

Last Kapsalon

The day before we left we ate the last kapsalon at Kadmium. Umm…Yummy! Hope we can eat them soon or perhaps we should introduce Kapsalon to London.

Den Haag Beach & the Other Billy-Bears

On 9th August, we went to the beach in Denhaag by tram. It was a sunny day and the best weather for ‘beaching’. The days have been so full-on, what with working on OTC-Delft. So this gave us the propper holiday-on-the-beach feeling, somewhat by force. The beach was very beautiful and we found good stuff!

In fact we didn’t expect that the beach to be so ‘beachy’, and so we went with Shoes with tights and thick socks. So we completely missed the waves but could enjoy some of the visitor attractions.

We think this is the best painting we saw whilst in The Netherlands.

A portrait of a man who kind of looks like a combination between Robert De Niro, Sean Penn and Joe Pesci.

The other one is a boy who, whilst we are not quite sure who he looks like, we still really love this.

And here to entertain the children is a fun Bouncy Castle Giraffe

but look at the evil face…

Finally we found another member of the famous Beer family, ‘Blinky Beer’. Each city has different name of beer which begin with ‘B’.

So ‘Blinky Beer’ for Den Daag.

‘Billy Beer’ for Delft.

We went to ‘Billy Beer’ on our second day in Delft because of the sudden rain (we had to avoid rain). We were quite surprised because there are lots of lots of Bear soft toys.

‘Brutur Beer’ for Rotterdam.

If we have the chance to visit The Netherlands again, we would love to go on a tour taking in all The B – Beer!
